How to choose the right topic for your school work?

Posted on July 24, 2019July 24, 2019

To make your job easy depends primarily on a good choice of topic. It is necessary to know something about the topic and to understand the issue. The ideal is the topic on which you have been writing coursework. Sometimes it is possible to agree with the supervisor that you extend the coursework and make it a more extensive bachelor thesis.

When choosing a theme, think of the amount of time that will take you to your leisure time. Just as there are topics you just need to do with a library, you can come across a topic you spend days with in archives and research. Before choosing a topic, check out the available literature and other possible sources to avoid having to draw on it.

When you are writing a job, you will be in charge of the work manager and will always guide you through regular consultations.

Citation

Each faculty requires a different form of citation. The easiest way is to look at your faculty website to see if it uses a generally valid ISO 690 citation or a custom version.

In fact, the ISO 690 standard does not say how a citation should look right, but on the contrary, what may not be missing in a citation and in what order the individual elements should be. If you use different generators to quote, check out www.citace.com.

It is important to realize that the quotations in the text must be marked so that it is clear from where the idea was taken. If an image, graph or table is used, it is also necessary to specify the source.

Conversely, if you use some generally known information at work, you don’t need to list the source. I mean, for example, the UK was founded in 1993… etc.

If a text from another publication is described in the thesis, it is a direct citation and should be appropriately labeled. As a general rule, your work should not contain more than 10% of direct quotes.

If you describe the text with your own words, it is a paraphrase. You do not need to put the text in quotation marks, but you specify the source and author. The key is to read the original text thoroughly and to reformulate it with your own words.

Are you worried that your work will be marked as plagiarism?

If the quotations and paraphrase are not correctly listed, your work will be marked as plagiarism. Whether you use direct or indirect citation, there must always be a source.

Never forget that if you used an image or a graph, you also need to specify its source.

If you are not entirely sure whether you have everything in your work correctly and that your work is not marked as plagiarism, you can have your work checked by plagiarism. On the website, they will verify the work and provide the output as a percentage, which is consistent with literature and websites. The work should have a maximum of 10% agreement – direct citations.
